Educators contribute to the profession.

As a teacher candidate and uncertified teacher teaching on call (often filling temporary contracts and leaves), I have had limited opportunity to contribute to the profession thus far.

HOWEVER, that is not to say that I have not contributed or that I do not endeavour to contribute when and where I can.  I make every attempt to offer guidance to other uncertified and certified TTOCs entering the district, and have often provided “what to expect” emails and/or met in-person to share my experiences on what works well/what has been helpful practice (and what doesn’t work well/what hasn’t been helpful practice).   I am also eager to participate in dialogue and open to sharing my thoughts and ideas at staff meetings, workshops, conferences, and district professional development days (as appropriate).

In addition, I often share the lesson plans I have developed in my coursework or practicums with other teachers (those in my program and those outside of it), so that they may use them in their own classrooms.  I also endeavour to share-out other shareable resources that I have found beneficial to my teaching and learning .

In the future, I look forward to contributing and giving back to the teaching profession at a greater scale, and in as many ways as I can!
